Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation: The Alabama Pilgrimage Resumes in 2022

GLIDE believes that we can create a life and a world that is unconditionally loving, and radically inclusive. In the process, we seek truth, fight for justice, and create space for reconciliation. GLIDE’s Center for Social Justice leads an annual pilgrimage to Alabama to visit and learn about the history of racism and how it has continued to morph in our country through systems of oppression, policies and laws. Together, we visit the many memorials and museums that tell the stories of enslavement and the through-line to contemporary mass incarceration. This pilgrimage is an immensely powerful experience for all participants. Many have discovered that when diverse people come together during the pilgrimage, common ground is found and they become allies in the struggle against racism. The 2022 Pilgrimage will take place in the autumn, and we hope that you will join us on this important, transformational journey.
